Unison Festival Interviews
Posted on 05. May, 2010 by Scott Carnegie in Blog
As I’ve mentioned before, I am in the process of putting together videos for the Unison Festival, a Canadian Choral Festival of Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender, Two-Spirit and Friends Choruses that takes place on May 21st-24th.
This past Sunday we did interviews with 4 people who are considered pioneers in the GBLT right movement.
Heather Bishop (pictured below), an artist and musician who was the first openly gay person to receive the Order of Canada.

Chris Vogel & Rich North (pictured below), first gay couple to get married in Canada, all the back in 1972!
Ruth Krindle (pictured below), first woman in Manitoba to be appointed a judge by the Government of Canada.

I used my new grayish background cloth, whereas before I just had a green screen backdrop and decided I should get more options, and I’m happy with how it turned out. The other option I thought of was a pure white BG and I have backdrop I can use for that.

We shot at a place that I’ve used on occasion for interview shoots like this, Blue Moon Wellness Centre, which is a yoga and massage studio. It’s a decent location in South Osbourne, a nice space and I can park right in front, which makes it easy when I need to unload gear. They are on the second floor though which is a bit or a work out when carrying up a light kit.
So now I’m am into post on the interviews; mix in archival photos, some good music and flashy graphics and voila, video magic!
